eat this, wear that: sprinkles, sequins, and birthdays

Eat This, Wear That: Sprinkles, Sequins, and Birthdays

What better cake to have on a birthday than one with a hidden oreo and covered in sprinkles? Seems like the perfect dessert to me! Birthdays also call for bright sequins and fun heels. Worn with a flowy black skirt and other simple accessories and this look is complete and ready for a celebration!

But really, can I have those heels? And that top? Or maybe just the entire outfit...

Cheers to 24 and another great year!

etsy find: kellembell clothing and jewelry

Sometimes I stumble upon things that are just too good not to share. Though I didn't really just happen upon this store {I actually knew Kelly the designer in college!}, there was no way I couldn't tell you about her gorgeous jewelry pieces and adorable baby clothing. Kelly's shop, kellembell, is full of one-of-a-kind, hand-made statement necklaces ranging from bold to preppy to vintage glam. And her tees? Pretty sure you will want to buy one for any little guy or girl you might know!

Vintage Pewter Liquor Tag Necklace "Sherry" - It has part of my name in it, how could I not love it?

Blooming Garden Vintage Jewelry Necklace - Hello gorgeous! LOVE this!

Aren't her jewelry pieces beautiful? So perfect to dress up or dress down for any season and occasion!

Head over to Kelly's Etsy shop to show her some love and let me know which ones are your favorites!

*Disclaimer: Kelly did not ask me to promote her shop. I just genuinely love her pieces and think she is so talented. Had to share the amazing work of this sweet girl!

friday's fancies: coach and saint james stripes

I love stripes but don't wear them often. Typically, I gravitate towards accessories in the pattern - handbags, shoes, wallets, and other things in that category. The new Coach and Saint James Collection is right up my alley with it's chic French and nautical inspired stripes perfect for summer days, picnics in the park, and weekend getaways!

Scroll through to see my favorites from the collection!

If I had to pick just one, it would be the Mini Bucket Bag. But only if I had to pick just one...

Take a look at the full collection on the Coach website and let me know what your favorites are!

Have a happy weekend!

eat this, wear that: carrot cake

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before {and if I have, sorry!} but carrot cake is my favorite kind of cake. If my opinion, there's just no other flavor that tops it. I don't know how I got hooked on it, but ever since I was little {I asked for it when I was three!} I've loved the grated pieces of carrot, fluffy and light cinnamon and vanilla cake, and creamy cream cheese frosting. And since my birthday is coming up, I thought I would take my favorite dessert and turn it into an outfit.

Sprinkles and Style: Carrot Cake Cookies and Outfit

Carrot cake in cookie form? That is just improving upon an already excellent and tasty treat. The neutral colors make it a great outfit to add the bright and fun colors of orange and green to make an outfit pop. Not like the giraffe print isn't enough of a state already...

What's your favorite kind of cake or cookie?

underneath your clothes

We're going to get a bit intimate right now...

One thing I am constantly worried about is whether or not my bras fit correctly. In my opinion, an ill-fitting bra or panty can ruin a pretty outfit. I've loved Hanky Panky for quite some time now and have recently discovered Josie Natori, but there's another brand that I've worn for years that just makes some great intimates - Calvin Klein. I actually started wearing Calvin Klein Underwear when I was in 8th grade and still can't get over the amazing quality and fit. And while I usually gravitate towards plain neutrals, sometimes it's nice to have those lacy pieces to make you feel extra pretty.

Sprinkles and Style: Calvin Klein Intimates

Seriously, how pretty are these? I love the midnight blue chantilly lace set and the royal blue, nearly purple embroidered set.

So tell me - would you go for plain and simple or color and lace?
