currently reading: fifty shades

Alright, it's time to discuss a sensitive {or not so sensitive} subject.

It's about to get intimate.

I'm sure everyone has heard the buzz over this book series. It kind of came out of no where if you ask me. One day, it wasn't really on anyones radar. And the next, it was topping best-seller lists and making headlines.

I just started reading the book yesterday so I'm not too far into it yet. It's obviously not some great literary masterpiece and can't be listed with the greats of Jane Austen or F. Scott Fitzgerald so don't try comparing it to that. It really should just be taken exactly for what it is - a romance novel {that was once Twilight fanfiction}. It's extremely {EXTREMELY} NC-17, which I wasn't expecting. I've never read a novel like this before so I had really only prepared myself for some light erotica, but the sex scenes in this book are so descriptive! So incredibly descriptive that there were some moments when I am completely embarrassed to be reading it in public. In fact, while making the commute back to NJ yesterday, I found myself really blushing during one scene. I mean, I was turning red and getting hot because the scenes are that steamy!

I can't stop reading it though since I really do want to know what all the fuss over it is. So once I finish it, and perhaps the other two in the series, I will be sure to share my thoughts!

  1. I had heard that this book was almost on the verge of being 'porn', which I'm totally ok with, so I'll probably buy it soon. I mean, I want to know what all the hype is about too haha.

I'm thinking it's mostly popular because it's so risque. Honestly I dont have any expectations when it comes to it, just seems like a unique read. Let us know how you like the story once you're done with it.
