cutting-edge caviar

Have you seen this new nail trend? Ciaté, a nail polish brand based out of the UK, has developed this nail effect that seems to be creating quite the stir. Tiny beads, meant to look like caviar, are poured onto wet nail polish, creating a 3D effect on your nails. This is a head turning style and one that I'm sure isn't for everyone. I'm still a bit unsure of it myself.

Honestly, I think it's a bit much for everyday. It could be pretty for a party or special event though! Reviewers of the product have also said that it only lasts 48 hours at the most if you apply a top coat to the tips of your nails {and only the tips}.

Caviar Manicure kits, as well as regular Ciaté polishes, are now being sold at Sephora stores and online at for $25. If you like the look but don't want to spend the money, this is an easy DIY. Just head over to your nearest craft store {Hobby Lobby, Michael's, etc.} and purchase tiny pearlescent microbeads such as these from Martha Stewart.

Have you tried out this nail trend? Are you into this style?

  1. It's an interesting look, but I'm not sure what I think about wearing it myself. I really love the white and the multi-color one would be fun for a party!

  2. Never tried, dont think I ever will either. It looks super cute on the models above but dont think it would fit in with my daily computer job. I'd probably have little colored balls in the cracks of my keyboard at the end of the day haha.

Thanks for stopping by and writing a little something! I love reading your comments! :] xo.
