on my playlist: morning workouts

{Image via Shape.com}

In June 2011, I made a decision to start working out more often and to eat healthier {a story for a later date...}. Not to toot my own horn, but I think I've made great progress. I went from rarely working out to going to the gym at 5AM. Yes, you read that right. I go to the gym in New York City at 5AM.

I think part of being successful in this is having some great music to listen too while you're sweating your butt off on the elliptical or on the treadmill. Music that is upbeat and uplifting will have you wanting to hop on your machine of choice and get your body moving! And if you don't listen to the songs on your workout playlist often, it's even more of a treat when you do.

Here are some from my current workout playlist:

2. Snoop Dogg & Wiz Khalifa feat. Bruno Mars - "Young, Wild, and Free"
3. Cleptomanics - "All I Do" (Radio Edit)
4. One Direction - "What Makes You Beautiful" {I'm not even ashamed.}
5. Karmin - "Brokenhearted"
6. Don Omar - "Danza Kuduro" {Not in English but it is so catchy!}
7. MSTRKRFT feat. John Legend - "Heartbreaker"
8. Duck Sauce - "Barbara Streisand"
9. Ellie Goulding - "Lights" (Bass Nectar Remix)
10. Coldplay feat. Rihanna - "Princess of China" {I use this during my cool down or while stretching.}

What's currently on your workout playlist? I'd love some new suggestions!

  1. LOVE this! I'm ALWAYS looking for new music. And props to you for 5am workouts. I did a few 6am-ers last summer, and that ended quickly. The new Maroon 5 - payphone is A MUST, call me maybe (duh), jessie j - nobody's perfect, jessie j - laser light, FUN. - some nights - enjoy!

  2. Wow, major props to you!!! I can barely get out of bed at 7:30 and it's just to get ready for work (sadly no work out for me). I'm totally digging Young, Wild and Free too. My time for great music is in the car on my commute. I also am loving Karmin, what a great new (at least for me) artist.
