friday's fancies: winning in white

I bought my first pair of white jeans a few weeks ago and wore them over Memorial Day Weekend. And you know what? I'm so in love with them! I don't know why it took me so long to purchase a them, but I'm already thinking of my next outfit and what pair to buy next.

I would consider this a great summer Friday work outfit. Straight leg jeans with a pretty silk top to keep you cool. Add a cardigan for the office because if it's anything like mine, they are blasting the air conditioning and have the fans on full speed.

Head over to long distance loving to see more white styles for summer.

Have a great weekend!

baubles from t+j designs

Sprinkles and Style || favorite baubles from t + j designs

T + J Designs is not a new online store to me, but I've never really spent much time on their site going through their pieces. Well, I did last night and it is safe to say that they've got some great ones. It is taking some great restraint on my part to not buy all things that I want. I really, really love the Luxe Deco Crystal necklace and the pretty floral bracelet {on sale!} so much that I am considering purchasing them the minute I get my paycheck this week.

Good idea? Bad idea?

Make sure you head over to t+j designs and peruse their site for some pretty jewelry to add to your collection!

friday's fancies: memorial day weekend

Can you believe Memorial Day Weekend is here? It may not be as warm as I'd like, but I still plan on breaking out the shorts and favorite sandals this weekend - an outfit that I'm sure is perfect for a relaxing weekend.

Friday's Fancies: Memorial Day Weekend Wear || Sprinkles and Style

I plan on having a quiet weekend in the suburbs full of family time and extended birthday celebrations. A shopping excursion or two {hello Nordstrom sale!} might be in the works too...

What are your plans for this long weekend? I hope it's something good!

Have a great one!

eat this, wear that: sprinkles, sequins, and birthdays

Eat This, Wear That: Sprinkles, Sequins, and Birthdays
What better cake to have on a birthday than one with a hidden oreo and covered in sprinkles? Seems like the perfect dessert to me! Birthdays also call for bright sequins and fun heels. Worn with a flowy black skirt and other simple accessories and this look is complete and ready for a celebration!

But really, can I have those heels? And that top? Or maybe just the entire outfit...
Cheers to 24 and another great year!

etsy find: kellembell clothing and jewelry

Sometimes I stumble upon things that are just too good not to share. Though I didn't really just happen upon this store {I actually knew Kelly the designer in college!}, there was no way I couldn't tell you about her gorgeous jewelry pieces and adorable baby clothing. Kelly's shop, kellembell, is full of one-of-a-kind, hand-made statement necklaces ranging from bold to preppy to vintage glam. And her tees? Pretty sure you will want to buy one for any little guy or girl you might know!

Vintage Pewter Liquor Tag Necklace "Sherry" - It has part of my name in it, how could I not love it?

Blooming Garden Vintage Jewelry Necklace - Hello gorgeous! LOVE this!
Aren't her jewelry pieces beautiful? So perfect to dress up or dress down for any season and occasion!

Head over to Kelly's Etsy shop to show her some love and let me know which ones are your favorites!

*Disclaimer: Kelly did not ask me to promote her shop. I just genuinely love her pieces and think she is so talented. Had to share the amazing work of this sweet girl!

friday's fancies: coach and saint james stripes

I love stripes but don't wear them often. Typically, I gravitate towards accessories in the pattern - handbags, shoes, wallets, and other things in that category. The new Coach and Saint James Collection is right up my alley with it's chic French and nautical inspired stripes perfect for summer days, picnics in the park, and weekend getaways!

Scroll through to see my favorites from the collection!

If I had to pick just one, it would be the Mini Bucket Bag. But only if I had to pick just one...

Take a look at the full collection on the Coach website and let me know what your favorites are!

Have a happy weekend!

eat this, wear that: carrot cake

I don't know if I've ever mentioned it before {and if I have, sorry!} but carrot cake is my favorite kind of cake. If my opinion, there's just no other flavor that tops it. I don't know how I got hooked on it, but ever since I was little {I asked for it when I was three!} I've loved the grated pieces of carrot, fluffy and light cinnamon and vanilla cake, and creamy cream cheese frosting. And since my birthday is coming up, I thought I would take my favorite dessert and turn it into an outfit.

Sprinkles and Style: Carrot Cake Cookies and Outfit

Carrot cake in cookie form? That is just improving upon an already excellent and tasty treat. The neutral colors make it a great outfit to add the bright and fun colors of orange and green to make an outfit pop. Not like the giraffe print isn't enough of a state already...

What's your favorite kind of cake or cookie?

underneath your clothes

We're going to get a bit intimate right now...

One thing I am constantly worried about is whether or not my bras fit correctly. In my opinion, an ill-fitting bra or panty can ruin a pretty outfit. I've loved Hanky Panky for quite some time now and have recently discovered Josie Natori, but there's another brand that I've worn for years that just makes some great intimates - Calvin Klein. I actually started wearing Calvin Klein Underwear when I was in 8th grade and still can't get over the amazing quality and fit. And while I usually gravitate towards plain neutrals, sometimes it's nice to have those lacy pieces to make you feel extra pretty.

Sprinkles and Style: Calvin Klein Intimates
Seriously, how pretty are these? I love the midnight blue chantilly lace set and the royal blue, nearly purple embroidered set.
So tell me - would you go for plain and simple or color and lace?

What's not to love about a Kate Spade surprise sale? I perused the site already and think there are a few things I may treat myself too. I'm justifying them as birthday presents to myself.

friday's fancies: weekend wear

Even though my typical weekend wear is more relaxed and comfortable, I've found that since living in New York City I still tend to add a few dressier pieces to my outfit. A simple silk tank does the trick when paired with boyfriend jeans and ballet flats - my shoe of choice when walking around the city. I try not to wear as much makeup on the weekend but still reach for tinted moisturizer, a bit of a shimmery blush, sheer lip color, and a quick swipe of eye liner. A messy bun, light accessories, and a bag big enough to stash all the necessities and some other things I may pick up while walking around and you've got my perfect weekend outfit.

Check long distance loving for more weekend wear outfit inspiration!

I'm heading home to NJ for the weekend and to spend some time with my mom and grandma for Mother's Day. What are you all up to?

sleep well

I've always struggled with going to bed at an early hour. It got so bad this past year that I wouldn't even fall asleep until 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning, and you can only imagine that it didn't bode well for work that day. Lately, I've started drinking tea, specifically Sleepytime Tea, and it has helped immensely.

So for all of you who have trouble sleeping to or just want a good night's rest, these tips are for you!

Besides my new affinity for drinking tea, I've noticed that turning off my TV and not checking my computer or phone {still working on these!} while in bed help in falling asleep faster and easier. And probably the most important thing to remember? Relax. It's so easy to get into bed and start thinking of things that went on during the day or what you need to do tomorrow, but clearing your mind and not worrying over those things will help in getting a good night's rest.

Hope these tips help some of you! Any other tips to share on this?

eat this, wear that: strawberry and lavender

This strawberry-lavender cake is not only great to serve for Mother's Day, but it comes in one of the prettiest and girly color combinations that is perfect to wear while celebrating Mom. A spring appropriate outfit of a light tank top, lace skirt, and comfortable wedge sandals would be perfect for brunch with Mom. A pastel, buttery soft leather jacket would be my choice of a jacket to throw on if there's a breeze. Mix metals with rose gold and gold accessories and you'll be ready for the day!

While on the topic of clothing, did you see the outfits from last night's Met Gala? Rooney Mara was my favorite of the night, but Kate Bosworth, Emma Watson, and Jessica Alba looked great too! Not on my best-dressed list: Ashley Greene, Kim Kardashian, and Jessica Biel. Who's on your best-dressed list from last night?

Hope you're having a great Tuesday!

friday's fancies: may flowers

Oh, hello there.

Sorry for the radio silence this week. Sometimes life just catches up with you, ya know?

But I couldn't pass on Friday's Fancies so I'm jumping right back into things with an outfit and floral accents in my favorite way - shoes!

Whenever I'm unsure about a print, I find that the easiest way to incorporate into my wardrobe is with accessories. It may not be the focal point of the outfit, but it can pack a punch when in a vivid and bright color or print. I love this look because it pulls together classic and staple pieces and with a fun pop of floral. Perfect for spring and summer!

How are you incorporating this fun floral trend?

This first weekend of May {I can't believe it's already May!} is a bit busy for me but I am looking forward to it. What are you weekend plans? Hope they're fun!
