eat this, wear that: blueberry pizza

Blueberry pizza with whipped ricotta and carmelized shallots. That type of pizza isn't something you hear of often, but when I saw this post on one of my favorite food blogs, my mouth started watering. Seriously, how delicious does it sound? And just one look at a pictured and it sounds like the perfect mix of savory and sweet.

The weather lately has been quite strange. Cold mornings and warm afternoons makes dressing in the morning a little difficult. This outfit would be perfect for the weather dilemma. A trench coat in the morning to keep you warm but a light blouse and shorter skirt to keep you cool. You all know by now that I love keeping it simple so a locket necklace and chunky bracelet are, in my opinion, the best accessories for this outfit.

Happy Monday!

friday's fancies: work wear

The office I work in doesn't have too strict of a dress code. I aim for business casual the majority of the time, meaning pencil skirts, shift dresses, and feminine blouses. Sometimes though, I'll feel like I'm in a rut and a more casual outfit of jeans and a sweater will make an appearance. I've learned though, in my two years of working in a corporate office, that sometimes simple with a little bit of trendy is the best way to go.

Sprinkles and Style || Friday's Fancies: Work Wear
The J. Crew Minnie pant {I own it in black, navy, cobalt blue, green, bright pink, fiery coral, and wine!} is a work staple for me. With its slim fit and stretchy fabric, it is a life saver on those mornings when you just can't figure out what to wear. Other work necessities? A comfortable shoe, a structured bag, and mascara and concealer to help when I just haven't gotten much sleep the night before.

video: favorite fall lipsticks

I shared my favorite fall polishes for this season on Tuesday and wanted to share some more beauty favorites today. I've become a bit braver and have started wearing more color on my lips so it only seemed appropriate to tell you what lip products I'm loving for fall.

So what do you plan on wearing this season? Do you reach for more neutrals or bold and daring lip colors? I would love to know what your favorites are!

Happy Fall!

When I saw this recipe on Pinterest, I knew it was going to be today's Eat This, Wear That. It not only sounds delicious but the colors of orange, green, and brown just reminded me so much of the season. And I am honestly obsessed with the Tory Burch necklace. I think it's absolutely beautiful!

Have a wonderful Monday!

friday's fancies: fall wish list

Can you believe that the first day of fall is this Sunday? I know everyone says this, but I really can't believe how fast this year is flying! While I am very excited about the upcoming season {it's my favorite!}, my mind is still stuck on summer clothing. The weather has certainly started to feel like fall so maybe that combined with this wish list of fall items will have me fall-outfit ready for this weekend.

Sprinkles and Style || Fall Trends Wish List 2013

The trends I'm most looking forward to - pretty embellished sweatshirts, flannel shirts borrowed from the boys, riding boots, suede heels, all things beauty in dark berry shades, fun jackets, and leather details. I don't think you can really go wrong with any of these trends, whether new or classic.

What's on your fall wish list this year?

trendy thoughts: the midi ring

When it comes to jewelry, I tend not to stray from what I know I like. Gold dainty pieces, simple bangles, pearls, and just a little bit of sparkle are my preferences for anything that falls into the category. I've been admiring the midi ring trend for quite a few months now but haven't made it part of my collection just yet. My feelings on it seem to switch daily - Does it look dumb, like a ring that's just too small to actually fit? Or does it look like it belongs there, sitting between your knuckles? I honestly can't make up my mind on this!

Sprinkles and Style || The Midi Ring Trend
For today at least, I think I like this trend. What about you, is this a jewelry trend you'd wear?

around the internet: what to watch

Because I was home the last week recovering from surgery, I spent more time than usual watching a few fun videos on the internet. I thought I would spread the link love and share it with you!

1. Robert Pattinson may not be the most talented actor out there, but even I can admit when he looks good. His new Dior ad is a bit NSFW but worth a watch just to see his clean-shaven face look quite handsome in a suit.

2. Flash mob proposals are pretty popular and this one definitely caught my attention. This adorable proposal happened in the middle of Home Depot and put a smile on my face immediately.

3. This one isn't actually a particular video but an entire YouTube channel. I've been watching this family and their daily vlogs for a few months now and just had to share! The Saccone-Jolys share their daily happenings in Ireland on their YouTube channel, and I just love seeing what they and their adorable one-year-old daughter Emilia are up to.

eat this, wear that: candy apples

Sprinkles and Style || Eat This, Wear That: Candy Apples
When the fall months roll around, I start craving anything apple. Apple cider, apple pie, apple muffins, and just plain ol' crisp red apples. When I stumbled upon this recipe to make candy apples at  home, I immediately thought of fall and crisp weather and of course, sharing it as an Eat This, Wear That. I went with another monochrome look today; this time in red. I love the pairing of the bright red paired with a deeper shade and some neutral and gold accessories. A great work day outfit as the temperatures start to drop and cool off just a bit!

Happy Monday!

PS. Thank you to all of you who sent me well wishes after my surgery last Wednesday! So sweet of you!

Just writing a quick note to let you know that I'll be resting up for the next days after a minor surgery {I promise I'm fine!} I'm having in the early Wednesday morning hours.

Don't worry, I have a beauty products-related video for you on Thursday! Then, I'll be back next week with some new posts!
Until then... have a great week!

tory burch lennox

Sprinkles and Style || Tory Burch Lennox Flat

How pretty is the Tory Burch Lennox Flat? I don't wear patent leather in the fall or winter, but I would consider breaking that rule for these! They are absolute perfection with their tortoiseshell embellishment and classic shape. Whether it's in neutral sand or bright navy, these would be perfect for with J. Crew Minnie pants {currently 25% off!} or this Club Monaco shift dress.

I'm dreaming of having these in my shoe closet...

eat this, wear that: peanut butter bourbon-filled donuts

I am so ready for fall. While the temperatures may still be in the 70s here in the city, the breeze throughout the day has me itching for sweater weather. So this week's monochromatic look based off of these yummy-looking things, is fall inspired.

Sprinkles and Style || Eat This, Wear That: Peanut Butter Bourbon-Filled Donuts
Seriously, I'm drooling over these donuts! I'm envisioning this outfit in shades of brown for a day of work in October with a top knot, tortoiseshell glasses, a pale pink lip, and winged liner. And I threw in a backpack because why not?

Happy Monday!

friday's fancies: summer to fall

The one piece that I loved wearing this summer was my J. Crew denim vest. I wore it with maxi dresses, short skirts and a graphic tee, workout wear, casual Friday work ensembles - the outfits were endless. Usually in the fall, I tend to grab a denim or leather jacket, but I am determined to make my new favorite vest work for the season.

Sprinkles and Style || Summer to Fall Transition Style

I am actually really into this trend of soft pajama-esque pants for the fall. And I love it with a tucked in blouse, suede heels, and a denim vest. Pair it with some gold accessories {seriously, C. Wonder can do no wrong in the jewelry department!} and this is an outfit I'd want to wear this on a night out or to dinner with friends.

Head over to long distance loving to see how to transition other summer styles to fall fashion!

Cheers to the weekend!

hair style: from long to short

When it comes to my hair, I'm pretty simple. I rarely blow dry it, occasionally curl it, don't need to straighten it, have never dyed it.

Lately though, I've been thinking that my hair needs a change. My hair cut style has always been the same - keep it long {just a trim} with long layers - but the thought of shorter hair seems really appealing to me. For me, this would mean cutting off up to six inches. While it may not seem like a lot to some, it's a pretty big and daunting number to me. But I am slowly warming up to the idea of chopping off the length and trying something new just in time for the start of autumn.

All these ladies make having shorter {or I guess medium} length hair so lovely! And they style it so well. So, any advice? Do you think I should just take the plunge and do it?

take me away: london

I've been bit by the travel bug.

After traveling nearly every weekend in August with my family, I have the sudden urge to take a trip. And right now, that place is London. I spent just a few days in London while studying abroad in college, but it just wasn't enough to satisfy me. While I did get to visit some of the places I had dreamed of seeing, it wasn't nearly as in-depth of a trip as I would have liked.

If I could, I'd pack my bags tonight and hop on a plane tomorrow to the visit this beautiful city across the pond.

Where would you go if you could pack your bags and leave tomorrow?
