The documentary The Short Game came out in September of 2013, but it wasn't until just a few weeks ago that I finally sat down and watched it. To say that I loved it would be an understatment. These kids are just 7 and 8 years-old and yet, they are already so much better than I ever was and will be at this game. They drive it farther than I do, they chip better than I do, they read greens better than I do. It's amazing! Seeing them compete at Pinehurst and what they do in terms of practice and training is remarkable. You know that some, if not all, of them will be the next golf phenom.
But don't think that this move is all serious business, they are just kids after all. Their personalities really shine in this movie and you get the sense that while they do want to win, there's a part of them that just wants to be a kid and run around acting silly with friends. I did cry at one part, but overall, this one is sure to put a smile on your face.
If you haven't seen this yet, I highly, highly, highly suggest doing it soon!
